When I say “fast” I mean realistically within the realm of 15 – 90 days.  However, there are documented odds of people who are earning money online in less than 3 days, I being among them.

But on average the goal of 15 – 90 days (range depending on niche demand) is highly possible.  Having said that, here are…

3 fast ways to earn internet money on a budget:

1. Become An Affiliate Marketer
2. Build A List
3. Drive Free Traffic

Ok, let’s breakdown each…

1.  Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is the fastest way to earn internet money because it allows you to sell other people’s stuff (product/opportunity/service) to earn a commission.  Choosing affiliate marketing to earn money online is great because merchants have already done the research and “grunt” work of determining if there’s a buyers market out there willing to purchase their product or service.

The hard work has already been done for you – market research, product development, sales copy, profitable price point, etc.  All you need to do is decide if the product or service is something you would purchase or buy into yourself, based on the sales copy and graphics.

In a nutshell, is the sales copy…

• neat
• maintain a flow
• convince “you” to buy (if you won’t purchase from the copy, do you think others will?)

Tip – Use Google’s Keyword Tool to view “Advertiser Competition” and “Monthly Search Volume” for keywords or product names (more advertisers mean there’s money to be made and you will earn money online).  To find it, just go to Google and type in “Google AdWords Keyword Tool”.  It’s free.

Once the above criteria is met and you’ve settling on a product based on your interest or preferred market, find out what your commission percentage will be (10%, 20%, 50%+…) and will it be profitable enough for you to promote, meaning is it worth setting up a squeeze (landing) page and driving traffic to it.  ClickBank and PayPal affiliate offers are simple, profitable & easy to start with. 2.  List-Building

You want to build a list of your own before driving traffic to a merchant’s website.  Your pre-sales copy (squeeze page) can be as simple as…

• having a great attention-grabbing headline
• outlining in 3 – 5 bullet points what you have to offer (product highlights; benefits to the customer)
• adding an opt-in form to capture the name & email address (enabling you to follow up, minimum 7 – 10 emails, providing even more details and benefits).

The primary reason list-building is so important is you don’t want to drive traffic straight to a merchant’s sales page without having the opportunity to follow up & expose a visitor to the product or service beyond that initial visit.  After all, most visitors DO NOT purchase on first exposure.

You want to develop a relationship with prospects because once they make a purchase based on your recommendation, they will begin to trust you.  They will be open to future “related” recommendations, allowing you to earn even more money online. However, if this is too overwhelming initially…

• skip list-building for now
• purchase a domain name to cloak your affiliate link… until you set up a squeeze page

You want every referral credited to you.  Cloaking your link protects commissions until you are able to get hosting and create a squeeze page.  But I’ll reiterate, you will most definitely want to “build your own list” to earn money online long-term.  This brings us to…

3.  Drive Free Traffic

Ironically the easiest way to do this without much pain & headache is to write articles.  Don’t yawn or howl with disgust, I hated it too until I realized it was the best way to generate free “short & long term” traffic to earn money online.  You can write 10 articles around your “Top 3″ niche keywords in 5 days (3 articles/day for 3 days + 1) to start.

• Place a link to your squeeze page or domain name (cloaked affiliate link) in your author resource box.
• Submit your articles to high-traffic article directory websites with a Google Page Rank of 4+.

Now you’re cooking with “oil”:-)  So if you want to earn money on the internet and you’re on a budget, these 3 ways are fast, simple & doable.  Allow your efforts 15 to 90 days to kick in, then get ready to get paid.

Why?  Well, I’ll start with my own experiences. It was difficult to consistently earn money on the internet for 2 reasons:

1.  I constantly fell for the lies of fast easy riches, little to no work.  This is a definite myth folks.

2.  I would start making money with a website or opportunity using… (1) paid traffic methods, overspend and lose money, or (2) dive head-on into traffic generation techniques that were either “fly-by-night” or didn’t sit well with my personality (for example, I’m not someone who likes to twitter or spend hours on facebook).

Ultimately, I’d get disgusted, abandon whatever I put so much work & effort into, then insanely move on to another (wait for it)… money-making opportunity.

Earning internet money can be difficult for 3 unique reasons:

First - Lots of misinformation

There’s lots of misinformation out there.  The absolute worst are those you pay for and come out even more disillusioned than you were before.  The most misleading are the ones that leave out crucial steps or pieces that new (sometimes experienced) marketers need to know to get off to a successful start.  Now you must understand you will not find an “all inclusive” source that will answer every single question for every single person.  It’s just a fact.  Although what helps is whenever there’s a crucial “knowledge gap” or confusion of some sort…

• contact customer support (if it’s a purchased product/opportunity promising something but not delivering)
• do a search engine search for answers, or join a forum related to your niche and post your dilemma (this has helped more times than I can count)

I have found these methods extremely helpful in overcoming complex issues beyond my scope.  Forum members can be extremely helpful and willing to help fellow members in need.  What’s important is to never allow misinformation to discourage you.  It’s the world we live in unfortunately… but with a little patience, you can overcome short-term pitfalls and achieve your ultimate goal to make money on the internet.

Second – Wrong perception of reality

It’s unrealistic to expect anything intended to bring in significant profits to be easy or instant with little effort.  I mean, come on people, how’s that working for ya?  Such an opportunity does not exist.  There’s no such thing as “set it and forget it”.  However, there are proven steps you can follow that call for solid work in the beginning and once your initial set-up is complete, only minor maintenance is required to keep the money coming in and running smoothly.

Third – Finding an opportunity whose means of traffic generation matches your personality

Earning money online can become difficult and challenging when an opportunity claims to be automated when it’s really not.  What I mean is, when the proposed methods of generating leads/sales actually make your teeth grind or give you a massive headache causing you to procrastinate, pushing your goal to earn money on the internet further and further away.

Ex. 1 – Opportunities that claim to be automated, but then pressure to either “cold call” or constantly follow up with disinterested prospects.  I hate that.  I could never keep those methods up long-term… not my personality.  However, if you’re a talker (or relish being aggressive), this style may work for you.  But there are much better ways of multiplying your efforts and leveraging time/freedom.

Ex. 2 – Buying into online traffic tactics that are less “face-to-face” yet still go against the grain of your personality.  Like blogging every single day, passing hours twittering or spending days camped out in forums bantering back & forth, instead taking a few hours/week implementing tried & true automated (not here today, gone tomorrow) systems that actually make you money online.  Now don’t be offended if these methods work great for you, use them… continue to earn internet money with them.

My point is to find ways of generating targeted traffic you can maintain long-term without you pulling your hair out or stepping away from your computer to light a cigarette.  After years of trial and error, what works for my personality is devoting time to efforts that produce immediate results (notice I did not say “instant”), so I can back away from my computer screen & enjoy the outside world.  These efforts include pay per click (short-term traffic), article writing and viral marketing strategies (long-term traffic).

Take the 3 reasons described into account and you will develop the mindset needed to realistically proceed to making money on the internet without the usual hardships and setbacks.
